You can choose to share either your current or your live location. Send My Current Location will provide a one-time update about where you are. However, you can choose to get rid of the old sessions sooner in order to further boost security. In general, Telegram is as safe or safer than most other chat apps. It could be argued that WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption on all messaging is a better approach, but the company’s ties to Facebook/Meta may turn off privacy advocates.
